Fun! It gave me the chance to visit the Sparkle Bridal Boutique up on Hanwell Road. Gorgeous. Very airy, spacious and full of lovely things! Thankfully Steve had my wallet so I am not currently the owner of a very unnecessary tiara! They also have vendors drop in on occasion so check their facebook page to see who may be hanging out. This week was Dexter of Celebrations. Between nosing arounds I managed to capture some fun images of Tanya and her bridesmaids and family! Needless to say, this dress didn’t make the cut!

Thanks again to Jill and all the gals at Sparkle and Tanya for making my weekend. You chicks rock!! Wedding withdrawal soothed!

Winter. The time of year I prefer hot chocolate and slippers. Yeah! Also the time you may notice that photographer blogs tend to get a little , um… boring!! Not much to shoot and I really don’t think you care what soup I had for lunch. Okay, It was tomato! But you don’t need to see a picture of it! This winter I’m going to be putting a keen focus on all things stylin! The latest in colour trends, inspiration boards, accessories, shoes etc. And I want you kids to give me any questions you have style wise or stumbling blocks you have over design or decor. I’m going t o be featuring some of Fredericton’s design and style leaders in blog posts to let you know who is making the gorgeous in Fredericton!! To lead us off just a quick shot that was styled by Fredericton’s own Sylvain Pitre of WEDS. Always awesome!!

These shots demonstrate the drama of uplighting! Easily one of the most dramatic and mood setting things you can accomplish in a room with minimal expenditure! Gives crazy dimension to a room and makes plain walls sing with your colour palette!

2. Brooch bouquets! A gorgeous idea from Noaki. An amazing way to get your something old in! Brooches from friends and family members can be included in your bouquet for a timeless family heirloom! Love it!!!

3.  Custom bouquet handles! Want a traditional floral bouquet but want to jazz it up to match the theme of your wedding? Check out Panache Bride. They are florists with years of experience so they know how to make the perfect accessory for your bouquet!

4. Custom hangers! One of my super faves. From right here in good ol’ Canada  Blackscrapcat make these amazing custom hangers for your wedding dress. So cute in photos and a great way to get rid of the ugly hangers that usually come with dresses. Awesome!!

7. Birdcage veils! So many vendors in Etsy designing birdcage veils I couldn’t pick just one!! They are wonderful to give a vintage, romantic feel to your day but also a good way to keep people from stepping on your veil!! Easy on and off and kind on your head!!

I’ve shot there already with Sylvain Pitre of W.E.D.S. in a stylized shoot so I know the light is super-amazing. Steve and I got the chance to check out the rest of the building and the facilities from the point of view of a potential wedding couple. It really has everything you could possible want if you are looking for a clean, modern space for an elegant wedding. The interior architecture is very wow! The locations for indoor shooting would make it a perfect venue for couples getting married slightly off season! No need to freeze your butts of outside when this venue delivers these great looks!!

If I wasn’t completely married and he wasn’t completely gay, I’d say that Jose Villa and I are soul mates. I’ve been waiting with great anticipation for this week’s release of his book Fine Art Wedding. What can I say about Jose Villa? He’s amazing. His work is beyond dreamy!! He’s a new, old school film photographer ,which is how I learned, so I can totally appreciate his esthetic. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!! Based in Southern California he gets all that amazing light but his genius talent is what bends it to his will! Any bride looking for inspiration for amazing wedding art should check out his site!!

I’ll most likely be spending this weekend reading and drooling. Hmm… maybe I should have the book laminated! Heehee!

The new studio opened there in January and is enjoying great success. The studio is gorgeous and it’s obvious from  the full classes that students love them some pilates! Studio owner Cara Berube makes classes not only a great workout but great fun as well. Amid all the grunting and sweating there was a great deal of laughing and general good times! So if you’re totally fit and you enjoy a good workout of you’re a jiggly novice like me there is something for you to gain from pilates. And if you hang out there long enough maybe you can do some smooth moves like Cara! Sylvain Pitre of W.E.D.S. put together this fantastic stylized shoot in the upstairs lobby of the new Fredericton Convention Centre. I must say the lighting is beauteous!!  Sylvain is a spectacular stylist and decor designer. I love working with him! His style is clean and modern yet sumptously extravagant and photographs beautifully!!
