I’m not mostly a country fan but…

I have to be honest. There is some kinds of country music that makes me want to freak out. Steve and I were in Zellers buying a gazebo last weekend when the offending type of music came on. Ugh. But that’s the same for any kind of music. There is your good, and your baaaadddd!!!

But then you get to the music that kills me and for some reason there is a brand of country music that is more honest and touching that any music out there. It’s the Dolly Parton type of country. The Dixie Chicks. The type of music I find disarming. That sneaks up on you and you find yourself bawling in Wal-Mart. There’s no mystery why so many people like Taylor Swift. I know so many people who aren’t “country fans” but can’t resist her charm. I have a point here. I recently was introduced to a young lady ( well, not personally… to her music) named Emily West and she is just blowing me away. If you get the chance, give a listen to her song Blue Sky. The lyrics kill me. Great. Now I can go for my walks and bawl. That will raise my profile in the neighborhood!
