Vendor Shout-Out {W.E.D.S}

New on the Fredericton Wedding scene but definitely no newbie to the Design industry is Sylvain Pitre and his company W.E.D.S. Sylvain is a highly accomplished Interior and Floral Designer who is making a splash this season with his bold and innovative designs. His work is fresh and visually stunning and offers a level of detail and sophistication I love!!  I look forward to working with Sylvain in the future. I think we all know how much I love a great decor. Details!! But enough of my rambling… Sylvain was gracious enough to take time out of his busy schedule to answer some questions about his business and what he sees coming up as hot trends this season!!

Hey Sylvain! So give us a general overview of what W.E.D.S offers!

WEDS is a full service event design company specializing in creating a truly unique atmosphere which will reflect the personality of the client while being creative and bold. We provide a variety of services including, fresh floral design, rental items, fabric draping, set up and tear down services and much more.

Who is your ideal client?

My ideal client is someone who likes to be a little different, who isn’t afraid to step outside the box and turn their event from amateur to amazing.

What hot trends do you see coming up in your field?

I see crystals and bling becoming a HUGE trend. The use of lighting to define spaces and moods as well as lounge areas for events as opposed to traditional sit down affairs are also on the rise

What do you want potential clients to know about you that sets you apart from your competition?

I’m not afraid of taking risks, I love a challenge and I’ll never let my bride pick something from a magazine to copy exactly… Something may be stunning in a picture but I believe that there is always a small way to make something even more you… a twist on what you see that kicks it up a notch.

What is your biggest thrill about working in the wedding industry?

Seeing the look on the brides face when she sees the completed room for the first time… The disbelief that it could look like it did in her mind and even more so…

So tell me a little bit about your history as a designer

I have an honors Diploma in interior decorating and have over 5 years experience in one of Fredericton’s premier flower shops. I have had the chance to do flowers for the McCain Family, for the Premier and his wife, for events at the Lady Beaverbrook art gallery, Theater New Brunswick and countless weddings and I am also the official florist for the Delta Fredericton Lobby Flowers.

Brides wishing to book Sylvain should give him at least a month’s notice but as his business grows I would suggest you book him as soon as you can.  Prime wedding dates always book fast and I think his work is going to gain notice quickly in Fredericton!
